Django Weekly - Issue #21 - 12/06/2011
Welcome to issue #21. Last week was Djangocon Europe, so there is a lot of great content starting to appear; hopefully next week I will be able to post a complete list of talk videos.
Gareth Rushgrove discusses django-timelog, a new Django application for logging performance data. Really interesting.
2) DjangoPeople
Kenneth Love sent me this link; a really well executed Django People directory, created to fill the hole left by djangopeople.net.
Lanyrd has a good collection of DjangoCon Europe presentations and write-ups. I hope to be able to link to videos as soon as they become available, but this is a good starting point for the impatient.
4) Djangocon Europe coverage from Reinout van Rees
I found this from one of the many re-tweets; Reinout van Rees seems to have blogged a huge amount of DjangoCon Europe talks in detail. Another excellent resource.
"The aim of django-cumulus is to provide a set of tools to utilize Rackspace Cloud Files through Django. It currently includes a custom file storage class, CloudFilesStorage."
2) djfacet
"Django Faceted Browser is a django application that allows you to navigate your data using an approach based on 'facets'."
1) Web Developer at Gap Adventures (Toronto, Canada)
"The Development Team at Gap Adventures is a fast paced environment where you will be facing constant challenges and new opportunities to test your programming mettle. You’ll be working on one of our many websites, and building new and exciting tools for our external users and internal staff."
"On the technical side, all of our servers run on Ubuntu (Linux). We work with the Python language and use Django as our framework. As for our web servers, we run Apache and our database runs on MySQL server. You will be working with a Mac, but you will spend most of your time in a terminal working within a virtual machine or ssh’ing into a Linux box"
